Ute Weckmann elected new IAGA WG I.2 co-chair

26.08.2014|Weimar: GFZ scientist Ute Weckmann has been elected new co-chair of IAGA working group I.2. The election was held during the 22nd Electromagnetic Induction workshop in Weimar.

26.08.2014|Weimar: GFZ scientist Ute Weckmann has been elected new co-chair of IAGA working group I.2. The election was held during the 22nd Electromagnetic Induction workshop in Weimar.

IAGA working group I.2, founded in 1971, has more than 1400 members and is the largest and most active group within the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA). Their main activities are the biennial international Electromagnetic Induction in the Earth Workshops and the promotion of electromagnetic research around the globe. They also support young scientists and enhance scientific co-operation. This is the first time that the IAGA working group will be represented by a female scientist.
