LIS is your partner for questions on all aspects of scientific publishing.
Our services are centered on the preparation, dissemination and archiving of scientific results.
We deal with all products of scientific work: text publication, research data, software, outreach material. The FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) are our guidance for supporting open science as a paradigm for digital science.
The section Library and Information Service serves as the joint Library Wissenschaftspark Albert Einstein and was formed on the base of contract between the institutes GFZ, PIK and AWI Potsdam. In 2011 IASS Potsdam has joined that contract.
The aim is the joint usage and development of library services on the Telegrafenberg. The GFZ library in building A17 is the central access point for all services. Three branch libraries in A31 (PIK), A43 (AWI) and Berliner Str. 130 (IASS) broaden these offers.
The Library Wissenschaftspark Albert Einstein is a special library, which provides services to the scientists on the campus Telegrafenberg. It is based on the cooperation of the institutes AWI, GFZ, PIK and IASS in the field of library and information services. The library is also open for teachers and students from universities and anyone working on geoscientifc subjects. The library supplies for this purpose printed and electronic media and information for the work of the scientists on the Telegrafenberg.

ALBERT - Library search engine
Books, articles, maps, journals, research data and new acquisitions - in print and electronic.
Our library search engine ALBERT is more than a usual library catalogue. Of course you can find everything you would expect in a library catalog: including books, journals, research data and maps, print and electronic versions.
But the range of material you can browse is much broader. You can find current journal articles, geoscientific articles from Open Access repositories and reserach data.

You didn't find the literature you are looking for in the library? We will get you the literature by borrowing the book from other libraries within a few days via interlibrary loan.
Place your order for articles, books, or conference proceedings that are not available in our library collection.

GFZ Data Services publishes Earth Science research data of GFZ members and collaboration partners via an Open Access repository hosted at GFZ. The data are archived, persistently accessible and published with citable digital object identifier (DOI). Datasets published via GFZ Data Services range from large dynamic datasets from data intensive global monitoring networks with real-time acquisition to the full suite of highly heterogeneous datasets collected by individual researchers or small teams ("long-tail data").
