Personalia | Two GFZ scientists elected for the Review Boards of the German Research Foundation

27.11.2015: Yesterday, the preliminary election results for the Review Boards of the German Research Foundation DFG were announced. Hence, Prof. Scheck-Wenderoth, Head of GFZ department Chemistry of the Earth, and Prof. Koch-Müller, Head of GFZ section Chemistry and Physics of Earth Materials are now members of the DFG Review Boards for four years.

Hence, Prof. Scheck-Wenderoth, Head of GFZ department Chemistry of the Earth, and Prof. Koch-Müller, Head of GFZ section Chemistry and Physics of Earth Materials are now members of the DFG Review Boards for four years.

Magdalena Scheck-Wenderoth received 307 votes and is ranked on first place of the review board of „Geologie und Paläontologie“ that includes eight members. Monika Koch-Müller is on fourth place of the five-membered review board of „Geochemie, Mineralogie und Kristallographie“ with 192 votes. She is elected second and therewith last term. The DFG review boards evaluate proposals to fund research projects. They also monitor the review process to ensure that uniform standards are being observed. Their advice is also taken on issues concerning the further development and refinement of the DFG funding programmes. A number of 48 604 scientists took part in the election and did vote for a maximum of six candidates each, with 1707 candidates running for election.
