Personalia | Golden Master's Certificate in gold for Lutz Hannemann

Lutz Hannemann, former GFZ photographer, celebrates his 50th anniversary in the photographer's trade.

Last Thursday, Lutz Hannemann, a former GFZ photographer, received his Golden Master's Certificate on Telegrafenberg from Ralf Bührig, Managing Director of the Potsdam Chamber of Trades. To the day 50 years ago, he had passed his master exam.

"Just how closely crafts and science have been linked for more than 100 years is becoming clear here at GFZ. For our scientists the craftsmanship with its product developments in the device construction, but also the photographic documentation, is of great importance in the daily work," sais Josef Zens, head of press and public relations at GFZ.

Almost 30 years, Hannemann worked on Telegrafenberg. In 1964 he started at the Geodetic Institute, the later Central Institute for Physics of the Earth and today's GFZ. During this time as a photographer he accompanied and documented numerous scientific works and even made the doctor's hat of the first German cosmonaut in space, Siegmund Jähn, who did his PhD on Telegrafenberg.
