Daniel Harlov, GFZ section Chemistry and Physics of Earth Materials, is appointed a visiting Chair Professor in the Faculty of Earth Resources at the China University of Geosciences (CUG) in Wuhan, China.

In this role, he will help to promote the development of a mineral exploration research laboratory in the Faculty of Earth Resources. Harlov will carry out research in the area of Economic Geology with emphasis on ore-forming processes modeling in cooperation with the faculty and students of the university. He will teach courses and seminars and supervise PhD and Masters students. Daniel Harlov will also promote international cooperation between CUG-Wuhan and international research institutions and universities.

Besides this new position at the China University Harlov is visiting professor at the Department of Geology at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. (ak)
