Allianz Reinsurance launched the award for PhD students and postdocs whose research focuses on reducing the risk of extreme weather events that are intensified by climate change. A jury of six women and men selected four finalists of all applicants to present their research. Out of those finalists Viktor Rözer was the overall winner for his research on pluvial floods and the associated damage to residential buildings.
In 2017 the price was awarded for the first time, a following edition is planned for 2018. (jh)
