POLARIN: Polar Research Infrastructure Network

Recognizing the need for evidence based decision making to address climate change POLARIN facilitates research in polar regions by improving access to data and infrastructures for the polar regions which are on the one hand pivotal for climate change and on the other hand difficult to access.

The polar regions are losing ice, and their oceans and land are changing rapidly. These accelerated effects of climate change indicate the interdisciplinary research needs for environmental monitoring in the Arctic and Antarctic. POLARIN is an Alfred-Wegener-Institute coordinated network with over 40 partners. GFZ will provide virtual access to seismological data and data products for environmental monitoring of the polar regions.
