We are pleased to welcome our new section member Dr.Alexey Petrunin.

Alexey Petrunin started his scientific activity at the GFZ in 2003 as a postdoc in Stephan Sobolev's group. Within the DESERT/DESIRE project he was involved in the development and application of the numerical code LAPEX 3D-MPI for modelling thermo-mechanical processes. Subsequently, Alexey has been involved in a number of other projects, also as PI and co-PI. Within these projects, he has been focused on studying of the interaction of the deep Earth dynamics with a wide range of surface processes and observables (e.g. sedimentary basin dynamics, lithospheric deformation, heat flow, satellite and seismic data, etc.). In Section 2.5, Alexey Petrunin works in Andrey Babeyko's group within the DT-GEO project.
