We enhanced our cooperation with the Russian Vernadsky Foundation. The Foundation is a registered UNESCO Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). The Vernadsky Foundation and the GFZ organized jointly the German-Russian summer school in Sochi. During the summer school newest scientific-technological advances and methodologies in Geosciences and sustainability studies and their applications in industry and society were presented. 10 Russian students from universities and research organizations (Msc. and Phd) and 5 scientific experts participated in the summer school. We hope to strengthen by this broad cooperation the earth and environmental sciences within the Russian-Germany scientific-technical cooperation.
