Research Interests:

Volcanic degassing systems are common on many volcanoes. They are the accessible part of the deeper volcano-hydrothermal system and are therefore often targeted for monitoring volcanic activity. They can develop complex degassing and hydrothermal alteration patterns, significantly alter the stability of a volcanic edifice, and play an important role in the volcano's evolution. However, we often have a limited understanding of such systems and the processes involved. 

In my work I use modern drone technology, which provides high-resolution aerial data, combined with in-situ analysis to investigate the structures, processes, spatial variability, and spatio-temporal evolution of volcanic degassing and alteration systems, with a particular focus on the cause and effect of hydrothermal alteration-related processes.
