Dr. Anne Glerum (section 2.5 and section 3.1) receives the GFZ Award for Young Scientists for discovering new mechanisms of plate boundary interaction and for her methodological advancement of geodynamic modelling techniques.
The subject of Anne’s research is numerical modelling of plate boundary deformation. This modelling approach is essential for investigating geodynamic processes while accounting for a wide range of geological, geophysical, geodetic, and rheological data. In addition to that research, this kind of geodynamic simulation constitutes a key element within POF-Topics 3 and 8, in particular for Subtopic 3.1 “The drivers of geohazards” and Subtopic 8.3 “Integrating Geoenergy and Mineral systems”.
