„How do we want to live?“ With reference to the BMBF Science Year 2015 examining the subject „City of the Future“, this years „Tag der kleinen Forscher“ is dedicated to future topics like mobility, wastewater, energy, or architecture. Within this frame the GFZ "GeoWunderWerkstatt" organizes a science-celebration for pre- and primary school young researchers. The children can experimentally explore the elements water, earth, and air. Experiment stations are intended to stimulate the childrens imagination on how to deal with water, soil, and air in a sustainable way.

The „Tag der kleinen Forscher“ is annually organized by the education initiative „Haus der Kleinen Forscher“. This initiative that intends to support MINT subjects already on a pre- and primary school level is mainly supported by the Helmholtz Association. With this campaign the initiative aims at enabling children to actively take part in questions on the future and in shaping their environment. Therefore, children need to explore, question, and understand their surroundings. They take a close look on their immediate environment and make the world their laboratory.
