Funktion und Aufgaben:

I am a postdoctoral researcher mostly working with scanning electron microscopes at Potsdam Imaging and Spectral Analysis (PISA) Facility. My scientific work mostly focuses on experimental mineralogy and geochemistry. I am particularly interested in the issues of geomicrobiology and biomineralogy of surface zone environments, especially AMD environments.
Responsibilities:
  1. Daily maintenance of scanning electron microscopes
  2. Support, and training SEM users
  3. Sample preparation and methodology development for data acquisition especially for environmental, biological, and organic samples

Wissenschaftliche Interessen:

Scanning electron microscopy data acquisition

Geochemistry and mineralogy of AMD, weathering environments

Experimental geochemistry and mineralogy

Thermodynamic modeling of AMD environments

Synthetic nanostructures and their toxicity
