Wissenschaftliche Interessen:

I am a postdoctoral fellow studying interactions between fluvial sediment transport, sediment storage, and the global carbon cycle.  I completed my PhD in the Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at Caltech working with Mike Lamb on diverse projects covering sediment transport and bedrock erosion in rivers and on hillslopes.

I’m interested in a broad range of processes that act to shape the Earth’s surface, create sedimentary archives, and influence climate over both human and geologic timescales.  My research utilizes a combination of field work, controlled physical experiments, geochemical analyses, remote sensing, and theory to address problems in geomorphology, sedimentology, biogeochemical cycling, and beyond (see my research page for more information).  When I’m not stuck in the lab or the office, I enjoy getting outside into the mountains.
