Topic: "Volcano morphology, instability, and deformation hazards controlled by hydrothermal alteration"

Hydrothermal alteration is responsible for high impact volcanic events, such as the dramatic structural failures causing a flank or caldera to collapse. Here I work on a 4-year Ph.D. research program to investigate the hydrothermal alteration of rocks, ranging from the fundamental changes of their visual appearance at the surface to the changes of the morphological and structural effects.My Ph.D. program is financially supported by the China Scholarship Council CSC 2022-2026.
