News - Bomb defusing on Tuesday, July 3

A WWII bomb found near Potsdam train station is scheduled to be defused on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. A large area including the station and the bridge (see map) will be evacuated and closed off after 7:30 am. Trains will not stop and there will not be tram or bus traffic until defusing (hopefully, by early afternoon).

To reach GFZ and the VCAIS workshop at all on Tuesday:

You need to be near the station (inside the evacuation area) before 7:30 in order to get out of the evacuation area!

Please plan to arrive at GFZ at 7:45 latest!

Please plan walking from the station to Telegrafenberg (the last bus 691 at 7:13 will be absolutely jam-packed).

More information on closures and traffic (in German only) on the city of Potsdam site: https://www.potsdam.de/400-weltkriegsbombe-nahe-potsdamer-hauptbahnhof-gefunden
