We strive to establish remote sensing as a core method for Earth Sciences and geo- and nature-based solutions. You will be able to draw from the broad expertise and projects within the section, enhance collaboration and contribute to an innovative environment for a diverse group of people and ideas.
Your research will contribute to innovative ideas as part of the StrucNet and IDEAS-QA4EO projects, and as active member of the section.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the establishment of a network for the routine recording of vegetation structure parameters (StrucNet)
- Development and application of methods for the evaluation of the generated data
- Scientific contribution to the IDEAS-QA4EO project
- Scientific qualification in the field of scientific publications, application for research projects, expansion of the network and visibility of results
Your qualifications:
- Master`s degree or equivalent and especially a PhD degree (or PhD about to be defended) in geography/geosciences, remote sensing, environmental sciences
- You are an innovative researcher willing to contribute to the establishment of StrucNet, a novel network for monitoring vegetation structural parameters at globally distributed sites
- You have experience with close-range sensing like Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS), Unoccupied Aerial Vehicle Laser Scanning (UAV-LS), UAVs in general and field spectroscopy
- You are an enthusiastic teammate willing to join us for exciting collaborative research and expanding your scientific career

Fixed-term: Post-doc researcher position for 2 years
Salary: This position has been assessed as being salary group 13 according to “TVöD Bund (Tarifgebiet Ost).” The salary group will be determined by the conditions of the collective wage agreement and the appropriate personal qualifications
Working hours: full-time (currently 39 h/week)
