Research Interests:

  •    Physics of earthquakes: how do they initiate, propagate and stop
  •    Deformation mechanisms on faults, (particularly on transform faults)
  •    The interplay between seismic and aseismic deformation and how does it affect seismic hazard
  •    Characterization of the stress field   
  •    Fluid-induced seismicity (geothermal and hydrocarbon reservoirs, CO2 storage) 
  •    Integrating experimental work to better understand our observations from natur
  •    Reservoir geomechanics

  • Helmholtz-Alberta Initiative (HAI): Analysis of induced seismicity related to COstorage and laboratory experiments on CO2 saturated samples.
  • Geophysical Observatory North Anatolian Fault (GONAF): Participation in management and field drilling work.
