Function and Responsibilities:
I am a postdoctoral research associate in the Earth Surface Process Modelling group looking at modelling the initiation of debris flows. Debris flows are highly complex flows of water, mud, and boulders which rush downslope and endanger communities and infrastructure. They are also important to the evolution of mountainous regions by eroding the steepest channels and excavating large volumes of sediment following large disturbances such as earthquakes, wildfires or, intense storms.
Research Interests:
Debris flows
Landslides
Landscape evolution and sediment fluxes following catchment scale disturbances
