Function and Responsibilities:

Research Associate in the Potsdam SIMS Laboratory:

  • Development of new analytical methods
  • Characterisation of new reference materials
  • Tuning of the 1280-HR instrument
  • Assistance of internal and external users

Research Interests:

My research interests span across different areas of metamorphic petrology and isotope geochemistry, such as: (1) the study of migmatisation processes and the differentiation and evolution of the continental crust, (2) the application of experimental petrology techniques to study oxygen diffusion in garnet, (3) the development and application of new SIMS methodologies to trace fluid-rock interactions in metamorphic systems. My current research interests focus on studying hydration and carbonation of ultramafic rocks to better understand the physical and chemical conditions that favour serpentinisation processes in various tectonic settings and that enhance permanent storage of CO2 through mineral carbonation reactions.
