Function and Responsibilities:

System Administrator & IT support
  • Administration of section clusters, data servers, desktops/laptops and other hardware
  • IT support in using HPC-units at GFZ and other IT centres
  • Management of the section in-house documentation
  • Management of commercial software used in the section
  • Organisation of IT workshops for section members
Data Coordinator
  • Maintaining the section data archive along with FAIR guidelines
  • Assistance in data publications
  • Development of related documentation 
Research Software Developer
  • Administration and documentation of software products developed in the section
  • License management for developed software
  • Development of new visualisation tools
  • Developmentof Python, MATLAB, C/C++ and Bash libraries integrated into section workflows

Leader of the IGMAS+ project

  • Leading development of IGMAS+ software for magnetic and gravity modelling with external partners
  • Management for more than 200 external international user licenses
  • Organisation of workshops for users
Scientist
  • Enhancement of section methods through integration of machine learning and data science
  • Leading the 3-D-D project dealing with a 3-D lithospheric-scale structural and thermal model of Germany
  • Participationas an expert in various research projects
