Function and Responsibilities:
Abror Gafurov is a hydrologist with strong focus on mountain hydrology. His recent research activities are dedicated to the field of climate impact assessment on water resources in Central Asia. Moreover, he has a strong expreience in using remote sensing snow cover data for hydrological studies. His scientific activites are conducted in the frame of Central Asia Water (CAWa) project. Abror Gafurov is also a coordinator of CAWa project.Research Interests:
- Understanding hydrological cycle in Central Asia
- Mountain hydrology (snow and glaciers)
- Climate impact assessment on water resources
- Application of remote sensing data in hydrology
- Hydrological Forecasting
