RIESGOS will address and elaborate novel scientific approaches related to the assessment of different hazards and risks, including dynamic exposure and vulnerability towards the modelling of cascading effects and possible failures. Scenarios will be developed for different hazard types, namely earthquakes, landslides, volcanoes, floods, tsunamis and their possible interactions. Modular web services will be developed and implemented in a flexible and scalable multi-risk information system prototype. The main objective of section Hydrology is the development of a probabilistic multi-variable flood damage model for residential buildings on basis of satellite and empirical data. This model will be integrated into the information system enabling a comprehensive vulnerability assessment and multi-risk analysis.
