The western margin (Atlantic) of South Africa

The western margin of southern Africa is a classic volcanic rifted margin, with associated flood basalts of the ~130 Ma Parana - Etendeka Province and with prominent seaward-dipping reflector sequences and high-velocity underplated crust offshore (e.g. Bauer et al., 2000).
