Prof. Donald B. Dingwell has been awarded the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Prof. Donald B. Dingwell has been awarded the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Prof. Dingwell is Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. Dingwell has now been awarded Newfoundland's (Canada) highest honour.  He is a native of Newfoundland and completed his bachelor's thesis in geophysics/geology at Memorial University there in 1980.

As a member of the Order, Dingwell is one of approximately 120 Newfoundlanders to have been so honoured. The award ceremony will take place in St John's. There, Prof. Dingwell will receive his Order from the Lieutenant-Governor at Government House.
