Personalia | Professor Horsfield elected to the AAPG House of Delegates

Professor Brian Horsfield, Head of the GFZ section Organic Geochemistry, has been elected to the House of Delegates of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, AAPG. He will hold this office from 2017 to 2019 as a representative for the Europe region.

28.09.2016: Professor Brian Horsfield, Head of the GFZ section Organic Geochemistry, has been elected to the House of Delegates of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, AAPG. He will hold this office from 2017 to 2019 as a representative for the Europe region.

The globally represented association with a headquarter in Tulsa, USA, has, in its own term, for example the purpose to foster scientific research and technological development and to make geological information available to the general public.

In addition to his function as section head at the GFZ, Brian Horsfield is Professor of Organic Geochemistry and Hydrocarbon Systems at the Technical University of Berlin. His focus of study is for example on the origin and fate of organic matter in sedimentary basins with special emphasis on the deep biosphere and the interaction of solid rock and fluids.
