10.09.2015: On the recommendation of the Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, Mr. Michael Roth (MdB), Dr. Jörn Lauterjung, Director of the Technology Transfer Centres, Scientific Infrastructures and Platforms at the GFZ, has been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board on Civil Crisis Prevention.

The Council is part of the established national structure of civil crisis prevention resulting from the Action Plan of 2004 after the devastating tsunami in the Indian Ocean and serves to secure the integration of civil societal expertise in crisis prevention politic of the Federal Government. With its broad spectrum of participants from different fields it mirrors the areas of action with respect to civil crisis prevention as outlined in the Action Plan.
