Jean Braun, Head of GFZ-Section Earth Surface Process Modeling, will receive the Arthur Holmes Medal of the European Geosciences Union EGU 2019.

This was announced by the EGU recently. The Arthur Holmes Medal, combined with honorary membership of the EGU, is one of the three equally ranked most prestigious awards made by the Union. They are bestowed to "scientists who have achieved exceptional international standing in solid Earth geosciences for their merit and their scientific achievements". The medal will be awarded on the occasion of the conference in spring 2019 in Vienna. (jz)
