Today, 4 February 2015, 15:00 hrs Prof. David Bruhn will hold his inaugural lecture on the occasion of his Professorship in Geothermal Engineering at the Faculty for Civil Engineering and Geosciences at the Delft University of Technology. His inaugural lecture "The Heat Beneath our Feet – Geothermal Energy for the Netherlands?" will be broadcast via livestream on the website of the TU Delft (see link below).

The professorship focuses on the research programme "Delft Aardwarmte Project" which investigates the provision of the Delft University campus with geothermal heat. The Delft Geothermal Project (Delft Aardwarmte Project, DAP) was initiated in 2007 by students, staff members and past graduates of the Department of Geothermal Energy and further developed within the framework of a consortium comprising Government and Industry representatives. DAP aims to develop (geo)technical solutions for one of the main challenges in the use of geothermal systems, namely the economic efficiency. Furthermore, DAP offers Bachelor and Master students at the TU Delft the opportunity to complete their studies with a scientific dissertation in the field of reservoir geology, petrophysics and reservoir engineering.
