07.04.2016: In a festive ceremony, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce IHK Potsdam today honores all employers that since 2013 give young people trained as an apprentice the opportunity to spend some time abroad in European countries. The GFZ is one of the employers honored with the „Euroapprenticeship“ Medal, received by Dr. Bettina Hörstrup, head of human resources at the GFZ.

Already since 2009 the GFZ sends selected apprentices abroad to other European countries. In 2009 e.g. two apprentice administrative assistants spent one month in Switzerland, funded by the GFZ. Funded by a „Leonardo Da Vinci" scholarship one apprentice specialist in media and information services spent two months in Ireland. Currently, another apprentice specialist in media and information services stays abroad until mid-May for two months in England, funded by an ERASMUS fellowship. (ak)
