08.06.2015: As of now the GFZ analysis centre is the first group worldwide, within the International GNSS Service (IGS), that is capable of operationally analysing all(!) GNSS navigation satellites, determining their orbits and clocks. Additionally to the 31 GPS satellites, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS and BeiDou are included.

This makes for a total of approximately 76 satellites being processed.Compared to the respective single systems, accuracy and data availability is improved by combining multiple systems. In environments with difficult measurement conditions, like urban canyons, satellite signals are often disturbed. By using multiple satellite systems, the number of available signalsincreases and the user can chose the best signal. In addition, the combination of multiple systems increases the time and area in which enough signals are available for uninterrupted navigation. The increased number of signals also improves the spatial resolution for atmosphere sounding via GNSS.
