Founded in 2007, the Helmholtz Management Academy teaches the necessary management techniques of how to use own capabilities effectively in order to achieve worthwhile goals. Among the main tasks of the Advisory Board are: to provide strategic input of the Academy’s agenda, to identify Helmholtz-relevant topics, to formulate proposals for the further development of the curriculum and to build networks with other organizations.

As the GFZ’s head of HR, Mrs Hörstrup is responsible for the human resources development. This is going to be restructured completely, not only because of the recommendations from the POFIII assessment at the GFZ. She herself is among the first alumni of the Academy, where she graduated with a Master of Management. The first meeting will be held in May 2014.
