On 18.09.2013 the German Society for Geosciences (DGG) presented the Hermann Credner Award on the occasion of its 165th annual meeting in Pilsen (CZ).

Dr. Hauke ​​Marquardt (Section 3.3) received the award for his achievements in the field of Earth material research, where the extreme pressure and temperature conditions that prevail in the core of the Earth are simulated.
