27.07.2017: The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Potsdam honored the GFZ as “TOP-Ausbildungsbetrieb” in the State of Brandenburg. The award goes to six companies or institutions which are highly engaged in educating and supporting their apprentices and trainees. Today, Beate Fernengel, President of IHK, handed the trophy to Stefan Schwartze, Administrative Executive Director of GFZ, as well as a certificate and a cheque over 500 Euro.

GFZ is qualifying young people since 1995. Currently there are 26 apprentices which are schooled in nine professions, for example office management assistants, lab technicians, and industrial mechanics. Several criteria led to the award as “TOP-Ausbildungsbetrieb”, amongst others the special offers of GFZ to its apprentices. In additional courses, they can learn foreign languages or improve their ability in this field. Furthermore they can do an internship within other European countries. (rn)
