Department 5: Geoinformation

The Department Geoinformation maintains and develops its services in the context of the DataHub of the Helmholtz Research Unit Earth and Environment. The DataHub integrates data repositories, infrastructures and services in the joint program "Changing Earth - Sustaining our Future" across the borders of the Helmholtz Centers. A comprehensive, joint research data management in an open, cooperative network enables data flows and metadata profiles to be harmonized in order to increase the FAIR (re-)usability of research data in the research area and to improve compatibility with national and international initiatives. The DataHub enables systematic positioning and networking of research data management with national and international initiatives. The focus is currently on the national research data infrastructure (NFDI4Earth) and the European Plate Observing System (EPOS).
