The Geothermal Congress (DGK) will take place from 19 to 21 November in Munich under the patronage of Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier.

With over 700 visitors, the Geothermal Congress DGK is the meeting place for the German and international geothermal industry. The congress provides an up-to-date overview of geothermal potential and presents market developments and project examples. In addition, the industry meeting offers a wide space for the exchange of experience and personal discussions.

Keynote speakers:

  • Dr. Simone Peter, German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE)
  • Prof. Dr. Manfred Stock, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK)
  • Frank Schoof, Plattform Geothermie Niederlande (DGK partner country 2019)

The Science Bar is organised every year as part of the Geothermal Congress by the "Young Geothermics" working group of the Bundesverband Geothermie e.V. (German Geothermal Association). The competition is for young scientists who wish to present their bachelor, master or doctoral thesis on the subject of geothermal energy to a broad specialist audience. The best presentation will be awarded by a renowned jury.
