With around 1,300 employees (including our guests) we develop a sound understanding of the systems and processes of the solid Earth as well as strategies and options for action to face global change and its regional impacts, to understand natural hazards and reduce associated risks, and to assess the influence of humans on the Earth's system.

For our location in Potsdam, we are looking for a:
The job holder advances the digital transformation at the GFZ. They are responsible for the sustainably usable, coordinated information and data infrastructure of the GFZ and its enhancement. As a member of the directorate, they advise the Executive Board on questions regarding digitalization and IT strategy. This position has been planned with the option of a professorship for “Data Science/Geoinformation” at a university local to the GFZ.
