
Biological Technical Assistance (f_m_x)

We are looking for a Biological Technical Assistant with training in microbiological and biochemical analytical methods and willing to learn and apply various new, modern techniques for the characterization of microbial processes.

Your responsibilities:
- Support of the scientific staff in the field of molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology experiments
- Sample preparation for and performance of analyses of natural and experimental microbial samples (e.g., DNA extractions, PCR amplifications and qPCR analyses)
- Help with the maintenance of algal cell cultures
- Preparation of reagents and solutions
- Documentation of results and their evaluation according to specifications
Your qualifications:
- Completed training as a biological technical assistant (equivalent to German BTA) or comparable training
- Familiarity with working independently and sterilely under a safety workbench
- Structured work while adhering to tight timelines
- Good written and spoken English skills are required
- Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) is a prerequisite
- High degree of flexibility, independence and analytical quality standards
- Willingness to work in a multinational research team

Fixed-term: 2 years (with possibility of extension)
Salary: The position is classed as salary group 6 according to “TVöD Bund (Tarifgebiet Ost)”. The salary group is determined on the basis of the Collective Wage Agreement and the respective personal qualifications.
Working hours: Full-time (currently 39 h/week); The position is generally suitable for part-time work.
