To support our GNSS Analysis Center and our work within the Galileo Geodetic Reference Service Provider, we are looking for a Geodesist (f/m/x) to start as soon as possible. The advertised position combines operational work and corresponding research topics. An international integration and cooperation is given e.g. via the International GNSS Service (IGS).
Your responsibilities:
- Analysis of GPS and Galileo observation data with the analysis software EPOS.P8 used and developed in the GNSS IGS Analysis Center working group
- Further development of the analysis software EPOS.P8 (FORTRAN & Perl) in the context of ongoing modernization, model improvement and technical development
- Comparison of the derived GNSS-based data products with equivalent data sets and validation with independent methods, e.g. laser ranging measurements
- Research and software development in any of the subject areas: Orbit determination of GNSS and LEO satellites, advanced derivation of coordinate time series, use of artificial intelligence in GNSS processing
Your qualifications:
- Scientific university education and doctorate in geodesy or equivalent disciplines (e.g, geoinformatics, mathematics, physics)
- Experience in GNSS data processing, preferably in GNSS orbit determination
- Experience in developing scientific program packages e.g. in FORTRAN or C, knowledge in Unix/Linux-based operating system environments and Shell/Perl programming
- Very good command of written and spoken English
- Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary and international research environment
- High motivation and personal responsibility

Fixed-term: 3 years
Salary: The position is classed as salary group 13 according to “TVöD Bund (Tarifgebiet Ost)”. The salary group is determined on the basis of the Collective Wage Agreement and the respective personal qualifications.
Working hours: Full-time (currently 39 h/week); The position is generally suitable for part-time work.
