The GFZ operates diverse research infrastructures including satellite systems, global and regional observatories, instrument networks, laboratories, instrument pools, and data systems.
We identify synergies in using the comprehensive research infrastructures and provide targeted information and enhanced collaboration opportunities to scientists at the GFZ.
In collaboration with the Department of Data, Information and IT Services, we are developing an integrated platform for the research infrastructures at the GFZ, including exchange opportunities for researchers. One platform service that has already been implemented is the search portal for the laboratory infrastructure at the GFZ. Since the GFZ closely cooperates with regional universities and research institutions through the Geo.X research network, the portal provides an overview of the geoscientific laboratory analytics of these partners. In this way, we generate synergy effects at the regional level.
External scientists can use the GFZ infrastructure in accordance with the Helmholtz regulations.
