In order to meet the increasing needs for transport infrastructure large base tunnels are currently being drilled or planned (e.g., Gotthard Base Tunnel, Brenner Base Tunnel). Our group is specialized in the development of exploration strategies for a safe and efficient excavation.

For a safe and efficient construction of underground structures (e.g., tunnels, galleries, caverns, etc.) it is essential to be provided with a most detailed exploration of the subsurface. Direct observations from boreholes can be ideally complemented with geophysical investigations.
