Welcome to the home page of CONTINENT - High-resolution CONTINENTal paleoclimate record in Lake Baikal. CONTINENT is an international collaborative research project on the climatic history of Lake Baikal, Siberia, Russia. The project was active from 2001 to 2004. It was supported by the European Commission under the Fifth Framework Programme and contributing to the Key Action "Global Change, Climate and Biodiversity" within the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development Contract no. EVK2-2000-00057.
