The “Process- and Plant-Technologies” group within section 4.1 investigates aspects of energy and process engineering related to the use of underground resources as an integral part of sustainable energy production. Technical problems are tackled in different areas such as energy engineering, process engineering, geochemical processes, material selection, and test and pilot plant engineering. Economic and environmental issues are also considered as accompanying aspects.

In cooperation with industrial partners and other research institutes, various projects are currently being researched.
