Within the Helmholtz Programme Geosystem: The Changing Earth Section 3.2 contributs to the topics Earth System Dynamics and Geohazards. The Paterson high-pressure-high-temperature apparatus combined with new analytical tools is used to obtain constitutive laws for the mechanics of the Earth´s lithosphere. The Anatolian Microplate is investigated within the Plate Boundary Observatory strategy. Within the subtopic Geohazards we contribute to the understanding of the Physics of Earthquakes.
