GONAF - A deep Geophysical Observatory at the North Anatolian Fault
GONAF Project Summary
Analysis of Izmit Aftershocks
Analysis of Izmit Aftershocks:
We investigate structural variation along the Izmit rupture zone analyzing recordings obtained by a 36-station seismic network.
Analysis of Izmit Aftershocks: Spatial and temporal changes in seismicity parameters and stress tensor inversion of Izmit aftershocks.
Spatial and temporal clustering of 10066 aftershocks are investigated along the 17 August 1999 Izmit (Mw = 7.4) earthquake rupture zone with a total length of 140 km.
Microseismicity and Acoustic Emission in Deep Gold Mine in South Africa
JAGUARS
The study of faulting and rupture processes requires direct observations.
Examining the relation between mineralogical and geochemical fault rock variations with deformation mechanisms in the San Andreas Fault Zone at SAFOD
SAFOD
This project aims at detailed structural examination of fault damage zone samples (cataclasite, fault breccia) combined with mineralogical and geochemical analysis of the same fault rocks taken during phase 3 drilling at SAFOD.
