Two Indenter Tectonics
The experimental set-up is used to investigate the formation of curved foreland fold-and-thrust belts, deformed by two indenters.
Control of small-scale friction heterogeneities on the evolution of fold-and-thrust belts, fault segmentation and earthquake distribution
Faults in fold-and-thrust belts are generally curviplanar on a variety of scales. Intersection and interaction of curved faults may result in a self-similar pattern of segmentation and a complex spatiotemporal distribution of long term slip and earthquake ruptures.
Scale-related strain evolution at convergent margins and effects due to parameter changes - insights from nature and experiment
Orogens can form at convergent margins by plate subduction or collision.
