Crustal stress field and numerical modelling supporting seismic hazard assessments
WSM
World Stress Map project
The World Stress Map (WSM) is the global repository for contemporary stress data from the Earth's crust. The WSM database release 2008 contains 21,750 stress data records. The access of the WSM database is free of charge from the WSM website.
Stress and Strain Modelling
Numerical simulations of geophysical models based on insitu stress- and strain-data were performed for the understanding of the deformation and fracture processes of the earth crust. Different codes (FEM - Finite Element Method as well as DEM - Distinct Element Method) were applied.
MEGACITIES
MEGACITIES Istanbul
Identification of possible neotectonic active faults with remote sensing, geology and seismology in the megacity Istanbul to improve seismic hazard models.
