Swarm Introduction
Swarm is an ESA project from the Living Planet Programme, with is a concept consisting of a constellation of three satellites in three different polar orbits, providing precise measurements of the strength and direction of the earth magnetic field. Taking full advantage of a new generation of magnetometers and simultaneous measurements over different regions of the Earth, Swarm will provide monitoring of the time-variability aspects of the geomagnetic field.
