Projects:

GeoEn: as part of the GeoEn joint research project, I am developing controlled-source electromagnetic methodology and instrumentation for exploration of new energy resources and monitoring of geoenergy sites. Current activities include the further development of multidimensional forward modeling and inversion schemes especially for on-shore controlled-source EM data, development of data processing tools and algorithms, and development and testing of transmitter technology. My 3D EM modeling algorithms were developed with a primary emphasis on accuracy and numerical stabilitity. They run on the high performance computing facilities of GFZ, have been used for various CSEM feasibility studies, and are now also being used as the forward engine in controlled-source EM inversion (Multi-EM project) . Instrument development is done in close cooperation with Metronix GmbH, Braunschweig, and supported by technical personnel located in Niemegk.
