Scientific interests:

Research interest are the study of tectonic and geodynamic processes, especially at:

  • plate boundaries/shear zones
  • plumes/hot spots

by analyzing the seismic wave field, from active seismics and passive seismology recorded at permanent and temporary seismic arrays, and the integrative interpretation of these results together with other geoscientific disciplines.

Another focus of my research is the development of seismic methods (wave propagation  in inhomogeneous media, array techniques, migration, anisotropy, tomography, borehole seismics).

An applied aspect of my work is the study of shale gas, CO2 sequestration and geothermal reservoirs, using different geophysical methods.
